After having conquered 13 million viewers worldwide and over 4.5 million viewers in Italy, NOTRE DAME DE PARIS is back by popular demand!

The timeless popular play, which has captivated audiences around the world, returns to the TAM in February 2026.
This event comes just months after the reopening of Notre-Dame Cathedral, which, after the devastating fire of 2019, will officially reopen its doors in December 2024. This symbolic rebirth not only returns one of Paris's most precious treasures to the city, but also conveys a message of hope and resilience globally.

Exactly 23 years ago, on March 14, 2002, the show premiered in Italy, marking the beginning of an extraordinary journey that continues today and that in two years, in 2027, will celebrate the twenty-fifth anniversary of that historic debut, a milestone that will mark a quarter century of emotion, music, and poetry.

At the heart of this incredible project is Riccardo Cocciante, the composer of the music, with a unique soundtrack that includes songs such as "Bella", "Il tempo delle cattedrali" and "Vivere per amare", which tell the dramatic love story between Esmeralda and Quasimodo, set against the backdrop of the majestic Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris.

Bringing Notre Dame de Paris to Italy is always deeply moving. This moving popular opera addresses universal themes, touches everyone's heart, and has the extraordinary ability to transcend borders and generations. It is timeless because it connects with the human soul, fragile and constantly searching for justice and love, and that is precisely why it will always remain relevant.

The power of the opera lies in the special bond it creates with the audience, who always manage to identify with the destinies of Esmeralda and Quasimodo, two human beings fighting against the injustices of life and for a love that seems impossible. The music, with its deep roots, and the dance, which combines styles such as breakdance and classical ballet, create an extraordinary experience. The show continually reinvents itself, continuing to excite and celebrate the beauty and fragility that make us human; with a new cast, we can't wait to revive this extraordinary story, which continues to touch the souls of those who watch it years later as if for the first time." -Riccardo Cocciante

Program and cast

Teatro degli Arcimboldi di Milano

The Teatro degli Arcimboldi is a theatre and opera house in Milan which was built over a twenty-seven month period in anticipation of the closure and subsequent nearly three-year long renovation of Milan's La Scala opera house in December 2001. It is located 4.5 miles from the city centre in an abandoned Pirelli tire factory, in an area known as Bicocca.[1]

Designed by Vittorio Gregotti working with architects Mario Botta and Elisabetta Fabbri, the fan-shaped 2,375 seat auditorium, created on two levels, was planned to allow for the continuation of La Scala's 2001/2002 opera season and it was inaugurated with a performance of Verdi's La traviata on 19 January 2002.

An unfortunate accident closed the theatre for seventeen days in February 2001, but it reopened and became the La Scala company's venue until the renovated opera house reopened on its traditional day, 7 December, in 2004.

Performances of many different types of music are still given at the Arcimboldi.
