ON THE 700 YEARS SINCE DANTE'S DEATH, THE THEATRICAL KOLOSSAL IS BACK ON THE STAGE, ELECTED TWICE BEST MUSICAL!
The greatest story of the human soul, of its misery and its power, among vices, sins and virtues that know no time or expiration, takes the form of the show of voices, dances and technology in a setting so extraordinary that it earns The Divine Comedy Opera Musical the Gold Medal from the Dante Alighieri Society, the title of Best Musical twice at the Persephone Award 2019 and 2020 edition, and institutional participation in 2021 with the recognition of the Senate of the Republic. For the 2021 stages he obtains the patronage of the Ministry of Culture, in addition to the ever-constant moral patronage of the Dante Alighieri Society for the entire tour. Success, recognition and attendance of great value.
Over two hours of show, in two acts, more than 200 costumes and 70 scenarios: such important numbers reveal all the love and commitment poured into this precious musical of continuous tension. A fluid rewriting of the poem's most touching lines and stories then makes its total understanding simple and immediate. What is the atrocious and merciless, endless suffering of Hell? What is the narrow interregnum of Purgatory and what is the sublime splendor of Paradise? Immersive 3D projections envelop the audience and take them into the bedlam of pain and immensity that only the father of the Italian language was able to create. And in this theatrical journey, where technology is an essential element of support for the narrative, all spectators, even the youngest, can admire, fully understanding, the greatness of the Supreme Poet.
The 2021-2022 edition is enriched with numerous new features to complete innovative texts and scenic paintings created and designed by the director and the creative team to make the musical work a modern theatrical blockbuster.

Teatro degli Arcimboldi di Milano
The Teatro degli Arcimboldi is a theatre and opera house in Milan which was built over a twenty-seven month period in anticipation of the closure and subsequent nearly three-year long renovation of Milan's La Scala opera house in December 2001. It is located 4.5 miles from the city centre in an abandoned Pirelli tire factory, in an area known as Bicocca.[1]
Designed by Vittorio Gregotti working with architects Mario Botta and Elisabetta Fabbri, the fan-shaped 2,375 seat auditorium, created on two levels, was planned to allow for the continuation of La Scala's 2001/2002 opera season and it was inaugurated with a performance of Verdi's La traviata on 19 January 2002.
An unfortunate accident closed the theatre for seventeen days in February 2001, but it reopened and became the La Scala company's venue until the renovated opera house reopened on its traditional day, 7 December, in 2004.
Performances of many different types of music are still given at the Arcimboldi.
